This section gives a high level view of a “World Class” dive vessel

Every great project starts in the engineering department. The concept of RVX 2.0 was put on the drawing board by a seasoned naval architect Mike LeMole of LeMole Naval Architecture. Mike took all the critical items, laid out a general arrangement and lofted the hull that was desired.

The 2D lofted hull was then sent to Specmar in Scappoose, OR. Legendary designer Steve Pollard took the design from LeMole and lofted the vessel in 3D. Because the boat is made of thousands of pieces of aluminum 3D design was a requirement. http://www.specmar.com/

The 3D model was then “flattened” and “nested” onto sheets ranging from 1/2” to 3/16” 5086 marine grade aluminum.

The “nests” were e-mailed to Bayou Metal Supply in Slidell, LA. The entire vessel was CNC cut and then shipped to the boat yard on a tractor trailer. https://bayoumetalsupply.com/

A full set of assembly drawings were provided by Specmar to Delaware Bay Shipbuilding and construction began.

The vessel is stabilized with a Seakeeper 9 gyro that uses centrifical momentum to keep the 56,000 pound vessel from rocking sideways.

Cummins QSM-11 - 11 liter engines produce 670 horsepower each. ZF- VEE drive gears are mounted to the front of the engines to reduce the shaft angle.

Fire Boy fire suppression system, Arid Dry bilge drier to remove even the smallest amount of water to eliminate that musty boat smell from bilge water, axial fan to reduce condensation dockside.
